The plaque was adhered to the maple tree which was the class gift of 1904. The stack was built in the 1940's when the heating plant underwent some remodeling. Also showing is one corner, the NE corner, of Maple Hall. For years the dormitory did its own laundry in this laundry, with its door to the East standing open. A portion of the Tulip tree is standing, showing much less height than in 1972. The old plant, stack, and laundry were razed after the erection of the new heating plant in 1960."
