Abstract: This project features the creation and implementation of an after school creative writing club. The club took place over a 12 week period and featured an array of writing activities and projects. This projects focuses on the importance of literacy based after school enrichment, clubs as safe spaces for students, and the power of learning to write creatively. The purpose of this project is to express the need for further opportunities for students to grow as both academics and people. This project walks through the creation of the club, from start to finish, and reflects on the impact the club had on students.
