Abstract: In this professional project, I examine the importance of feedback in the classroom and outline the best practices as deemed by the relevant literature. In addition, I discuss the numerous challenges associated with giving feedback. For my study, I assigned a one-page paper to two different classes; in one class, I return feedback that is noted effective by the literature (i.e. timely, specific, non-judgemental, etc.), and in the other class, I give feedback that is deemed ineffective by the literature. One week later, I assigned a similar assignment and noted the differences in improvement between the two classes. These results are then analyzed and challenged.
