Abstract: In this project, I am investigating the impact of using repertoire and instruments from non-American countries to teach elementary music. I am exploring how students learn better or worse or differently by using materials from America versus from other countries. Some music or instruments will be from cultures the students are already familiar with or a part of, and others will be from cultures that they have not experienced much of before.
