Description: In a high saddle separating Caburgua from the Huife Valley the rural community of Paillaco built a school. The first teacher, Teodoro Mättig, expanded the school to include the sixth grade. Professor Mattig, likewise, was a strong proponent for the Caburgua school, improved roads, and innocative forestry and farming.; Scanned image from slides using the Epson Expression 10000 XL as a tif image (1200 dpi, pixel dimensions- width: 1532, height: 1015) and converted into jpg for access purposes
