Description: The Chilean railroad purchased hardwood railroad ties made of either roble (Chilean oak) or coihue. Many famers hewed these ties with an ax. Sawmills also cut them.; Scanned image from slides using the Epson Expression 10000 XL as a tif image (1200 dpi, pixel dimensions- width: 1528, height: 1007) and converted into jpg for access purposes
