Abstract
-
This project focuses on autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and ways to better support individuals with ASD and developmental needs. It looks at common characteristics of ASD, such as challenges with communication, social interaction, and behavior. I also go over different strategies that can help, including structured routines, visual supports, and creating an inclusive environment. Throughout the project, I focus on how educators, families, and support systems all play an important role in helping individuals with ASD succeed. I also include some of the challenges and misunderstandings around ASD and why awareness is important. Overall, this project helped me better understand how to support individuals with ASD and how to create a more positive and inclusive learning environment.
