Abstract
-
This project explores the role of mentorship and volunteerism in addressing challenges faced by underserved youth communities, specifically in the Northern Mariana Islands (islands of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota), a U.S. territory located in the western Pacific Ocean. Through personal experience, the project highlights how youth development organizations like 4-H Marianas empower youth by providing leadership and career opportunities. By documenting a total of ninety hours of service during the 2024, 2025, and 2026 National 4-H Conferences (approximately thirty hours per year), this project aims to analyze how experiential learning connects local needs with national-level work.
