Description: This flowering cherry tree is located on the lawn between Landers Hall and the Lot J Loop parking lot. It was dedicated in 2008, and the plaque reads "This living memorial is dedicated to the 32 Virginia Tech University faculty and students whose lives were tragically taken from them on April 16, 2007."

In the photograph, the Virginia Tech University Memorial Tree is located on the right side of the image. The tree in the center with the golden shovels is the Whitney Bellinghausen Memorial Tree.
