Description: This plaque was a gift from the class of 1956 to honor the former Oregon College of Education President Roben John Maaske. It was previously housed in the old library located on the northeast corner of Jackson Street and Monmouth Avenue N. Currently, the plaque is located in the Hamersly Library south stairwell on the landing between the second and third floors.

The plaque reads "'Education is not a destination. It is a journey. Always, we are enroute.' Favorite quotation of Dr. Roben J. Maaske President -- 1950-1955 Oregon College of Education Senior Class 1956"
