Abstract
This project analyzes conversations between men and women podcasters in a contemporary work setting. I specifically analyze questions, attention getting strategies, interruptions and overlaps, minimal responses, and the use of statements. These fundamental linguistic features are essential to conversation analysis and relevant to understanding the distribution of power within a conversation. The frequency and rate at which these specific linguistic features occur is recorded in each individual podcast and the results are compared.
