Four ink drawings of Utah landscape made from the train while traveling to Marysville, California.
The following is written along two sides of the pate, "September 8th 1944 - We had crossed the Rocky Mts. and came into this desert, I went to sleep in the heart of the Rockies and I awoke in the midst of the desolation you see in the top two pictures. The rock formations were very beautiful however."
