Description
-
Michigan State University/Army Specialized Training Program (MSU ASTP) - WWII Drawings.
Ink portrait drawing of man looking downward. Small colored pencil sketches of a fish and a rabbit on the lower edge of the paper.
Maurice explained that when he was a student at MSU learning Italian he lived in housing that used to be a women's dorm. The university gave it to the ASTP. This drawing was of Wasserman, from Detroit, nicknamed Junior. Junior had won a spelling bee and his prize was a large dictionary and he had taken it with him to the army. Every night he would read a page.
