Description
-
WWII-Work Assignments/New Guinea.
Ink drawing of several trucks at camp. Dozens of crates piled up nearby, some covered with tarps. A long building to the right and the sea in the background.
Maurice added this was part of the motor pool where all the army vehicles (not war vehicles) were kept. If someone was going from one point to another they'd put their vehicle up for the night to have it serviced (oil, gasoline) for their next trip. The motor pool was staffed by auto mechanics. Snakes would sometimes be under the hood of the vehicles.
