Description

WWII-New Guinea Entertainment.
Ink drawing of two people sitting in chairs on a beach, facing the ocean, under a sun umbrella. Two figures on a small motorboat made from the gas tanks of a plane can be seen on the water in the distance.
Verso: "27 January 45. Sketched outside the Huba Huba Hut near the beach. This represents a side of life in the army unknown to us casuals. We, the modern day Gunga Dins, never are allowed to luxuriate [sic] thusly. Damn it!! That's a raft with diving board in the background or is it backwater in this case?"
