Abstract: An examination of the failures of Napoleon's Navy. Using primary and secondary examination, this paper answers the question of why Napoleon's Navy was such a spectacular failure during the Napoleonic Wars. The paper contends that the French Revolution destroyed the experienced admiralty and thereby doomed the French Navy to failure.
